Today, the EDRM is fractured. When the threat of litigation arises, an organization must issue legal holds to preserve data in the hands of often dozens, sometimes hundreds, of custodians. If they’re lucky, the organization’s legal and IT teams may have access to expensive legacy software to help them out. But for over 80% of in-house legal departments, the process is manual—a tangle of individual emails sent out, reminders created, spreadsheets (so many spreadsheets) compiled, acknowledgments tracked down, etc.
If that matter becomes active, the organization may need a forensics vendor to collect the data, then burn it to hard drives and ship it off to an eDiscovery vendor. That eDiscovery vendor then processes the data, maybe charging ridiculous eDiscovery fees for TIFFing, OCRing, hosting, and promoting to review. We could go on and on down the EDRM, but I think you get the picture.
It is, without question, a mess. An expensive, risky, and incredibly slow mess. And as data explodes, the friction in the system becomes even worse, placing data at risk, pricing thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands, out of the justice system altogether, and destroying the budgets of even the most well-funded organizations.

Throughout 2020, Logikcull users have not slowed down, even in the face of dual health and economic crises. They’ve created over 12,500 new matters, from litigation to internal investigations and subpoena response to data breach analysis.
Those matters are full of data, with over 170,000 GBs of data processed, 257 million documents processed, and 72,000 uploads added to Logikcull this year alone. That includes a single zip file that was 369 GB large, processed and ready for review in under a day.
If each simple drag-and-drop upload saves two hours, Logikculll users have saved 16 years of time.
Speaking of time, Logikcull users have spent more than 160,000 hours in Logikcull in 2020 so far. To put that in perspective, that’s over 18 years. In October alone, users spent over 20,000 hours in Logikcull—nearly 2.5 years’ worth in just a month.

The teams rolling out these features are also constantly thinking about discovery and litigation in the cloud age. But there is no one “cloud.” There are dozens—and they’re all siloed off from each other. There’s the Amazon cloud, AWS, and the Microsoft cloud, Azure, the Google cloud, IBM’s cloud, Oracle’s cloud (the TikTok cloud?), and many more.
They don’t talk to each other and they don’t play very well together. In the future, you’ll need to be able to move data easily from AWS to Azure or from the Google cloud to the Oracle cloud.
Logikcull is making that happen. Logikcull Polycloud allows you to select the cloud in which your data will be stored. Users can now process their data in Logikcull, then store in their preferred cloud—Azure US or Amazon EU, for example. Just set your storage location in your account preferences. It’s that easy.

This is just the start. Imagine storing data in your desired location at the project level, allowing you to move smoothly across increasingly fractured data regimes. It’s a future we’re incredibly excited about and can’t wait to bring to you.
That future will have a new face. Early next year, we’ll release an entirely redesigned Logikcull—one that is even cleaner, faster, and more intuitive. You’ll be able to sort projects more easily, create projects more quickly, and control far more of your interface, so that each user can control what filters they want to see and where. And, of course, we’ve made it faster—up to 10X faster in some cases.
